Implementations fail in the planning, not the software. This is the order we work in, and why.

• Process mapping first — how orders, stock, invoicing and approvals genuinely work today, including the workarounds nobody documents
• Chart of accounts agreed with your accountant before anything is configured, because changing it after transactions exist is painful
• Core configuration: company, warehouses, item groups, customer and supplier masters, tax treatment, price lists
• Data migration — opening balances, item masters, customer and supplier lists, outstanding invoices
• Role-by-role training, run separately for accounts, stores and sales, because each needs a different half-hour
• Parallel running where the risk warrants it, then cutover on a date chosen for a quiet week rather than a convenient one

Where ERPNext projects go wrong

The most common failure is configuring everything at once. A business that switches on manufacturing, projects, quality and CRM alongside accounts and stock will use none of them properly. We would rather deliver three modules that get used than nine that get abandoned.
